Speaking

I’m on a mission to change how youth (and the adults in their life) think about the future. I inspire teens to get off their devices and engage in life while giving adults the strategies and tools they need to motivate them along the way.

I’ve looked at the research, and it’s not good.

We’re in the middle of a youth mental health crisis, and teens aren’t happy. They’re less social, less independent, and have fewer things they’re passionate about.

But it doesn’t need to be this way.

We’re the adults in the room, and we can help teens change course.

Here are the topics I cover for audiences of all sizes. These are best suited for schools, organizations, and churches.

Making Emotional Intelligence Trendy

The World Economic Forum recently ranked emotional intelligence as one of the most in-demand skills employers look for, above technical skills. That’s right. Employers want people who are self-aware, know how to calm themselves down in stressful situations, and who have good interpersonal skills.

The audience learns what it means to be emotionally intelligent, gets an idea of where they fall on the emotional intelligence spectrum, and walks away with ways to increase their own.

Finding Your Passion

Teens and young adults today report increased loneliness and that they don’t have much they’re passionate about. Yet, when you look at social media, you’d think passions just fall out of the sky! I talk about how passions are things that start out as curiosities and then must be cultivated and maintained along the way.

Audience members learn how to find their passions (or their teen’s) and what they’ll need to do to keep them going.

Getting Your Teen Motivated

The elephant in the room is that device you’re reading this on, and it’s the thing your teen is likely staring at right now. We’ve handed teens something as addictive as cocaine and then scratch our heads in wonder over why they can’t seem to put down their phones and do something!

Audience members learn about the 3 skills sets that make up motivation, how to diagnose where they (or their teen) is lacking, and what to do about it.

Preparing for Gen Z in the Workplace

The new members entering the work force and applying for your jobs bring with them a different mindset and work style. Many leaders feel unprepared and don’t know how to manage Gen Z in the workplace. They complain that motivation is low and they don’t know what to do to lift it.

Audience members learn about the 3 skills sets that make up motivation, how to diagnose where members of their work force are lacking, and what to do about it.
